Tragic Plane Crash Claims Lives in Ahmedabad
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad to inspect the site of the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash, which resulted in the loss of 241 lives the previous day, marking one of the deadliest aviation disasters in recent history.
The Prime Minister's convoy was seen departing from the civil hospital in Ahmedabad, where he had met with survivors of the Air India plane accident that occurred on Thursday. The death toll from the Ahmedabad crash has now risen to 297. Out of the 242 individuals on board, 241 fatalities have been confirmed, with only one passenger surviving. Among the deceased were 229 passengers and 12 crew members. Additionally, the aircraft crashed into a medical college dormitory, leading to the deaths of 56 individuals present at the time.
Prime Minister Expresses Condolences
Prime Minister Modi expressed his shock over the tragedy, stating that the incident has left everyone in disbelief, and the loss of so many lives in such a sudden and heartbreaking manner is beyond words. He shared his condolences on social media, emphasizing the profound impact of this disaster.
He remarked, "We are stunned by the plane crash in Ahmedabad. The sudden and heartbreaking loss of so many lives is beyond words. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all grieving families."

Modi further acknowledged the pain experienced by the families affected, recognizing that the void left by their loved ones will be felt for many years to come. He concluded with a message of peace, saying, "Om Shanti."
The tragic incident on Thursday resulted in the deaths of all but one passenger aboard the Air India flight.
