Prime Minister Modi to Visit West Bengal for Gas Distribution Project Launch
Modi's Upcoming Visit to West Bengal
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit West Bengal. During this trip, he will lay the foundation stone for a gas distribution project and address a public gathering in the Alipurduar district. This information was shared by a senior leader from the BJP.
Sukanta Majumdar, the state BJP president, informed a news agency, "Initially, Modi will participate in a government event, followed by addressing a party meeting in Alipurduar. Later in the evening, he will depart for Patna. We are all eager to hear him speak. This will be his first visit after 'Operation Sindoor.'"
Another BJP leader mentioned that Modi is expected to arrive in West Bengal from Sikkim after 1 PM.
According to a statement released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), during the government ceremony, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the City Gas Distribution (CGD) project for the Alipurduar and Cooch Behar districts.
The CGD project, which has an estimated cost exceeding ₹1,010 crores, aims to supply PNG to over 250,000 households and more than 100 commercial establishments and industries. Additionally, it will provide CNG to vehicles through approximately 19 CNG stations, aligning with the government's Minimum Work Program (MWP) objectives.
