Prime Minister Modi to Lead Key Security Meeting Amid Rising Tensions in the Middle East
Significant Security Meeting in New Delhi
In light of escalating geopolitical tensions and conflict in the Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) today in New Delhi. The primary aim of this high-level gathering is to assess the potential impacts of ongoing regional conflicts on India and to review the preparations made to safeguard Indian interests.
It is anticipated that the Prime Minister will evaluate the actions and measures taken by various ministries to protect India's interests amidst the continuing unrest in the region. This marks the second CCS meeting led by PM Modi in less than a month concerning tensions in the Middle East. During the previous meeting held in April, he instructed ministers and officials to ensure the availability of essential goods for the public to protect their interests.
Review of Measures Taken by Ministries
PM Modi recently shared on X (formerly Twitter) that he reviewed the steps being taken by various ministries and departments in response to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, discussing further actions to be implemented. The discussions encompassed critical sectors such as energy, agriculture, fertilizers, aviation, shipping, and logistics.
In the last meeting, he was briefed on the measures taken to ensure the uninterrupted supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and other petroleum products. Additionally, he received updates regarding the availability of fertilizers for the upcoming Kharif and Rabi seasons.
Emphasis on Accurate Information
PM Modi stressed the importance of providing accurate information to the public to prevent the spread of misinformation and rumors. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) stated, "The PM has directed all relevant departments to take every possible measure to alleviate the issues faced by citizens and sectors affected by the current global situation."
