Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, a significant infrastructure project aimed at halving travel time between the two cities. The corridor, which has a budget exceeding ₹12,000 crores, will enhance connectivity through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Modi's visit on April 14 will also include a review of the wildlife corridor and a visit to a local temple. This initiative promises to improve travel efficiency with advanced traffic management systems in place.

Inauguration of the Economic Corridor

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, which is expected to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities by nearly half. Additionally, he will assess the wildlife corridor integrated into the elevated section of the high-speed expressway.


The construction of this corridor has exceeded a budget of ₹12,000 crores. According to official statements, the corridor will traverse through Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, cutting the travel duration from the current six hours to approximately two and a half hours.


Upcoming Visit to Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh

On April 14, the Prime Minister will embark on a visit to Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. During this trip, he will review the wildlife corridor established along the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor in Saharanpur. Following this, Modi will offer prayers at the 'Maa Dat Kali' temple located near Dehradun.


The statement further mentioned that after the temple visit, the Prime Minister will officially inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor at a public event in Dehradun, where he will also address a gathering. To enhance the travel experience for passengers, an Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) has been implemented within the corridor.
