Prime Minister Modi to Inaugurate Bio-Refinery in Assam on September 8

Assam's Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on September 8 to inaugurate a bio-refinery in Numaligarh. The facility, which converts bamboo into 2G ethanol, represents a significant investment of ₹4,200 crores. Modi will also lay the foundation for various infrastructure projects in Mangaldoi and participate in the year-long centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Additionally, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Assam on August 29 for the inauguration of the new Raj Bhawan.

Upcoming Visit of Prime Minister Modi to Assam

On Friday, Assam's Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam on September 8 to inaugurate a bio-refinery in Numaligarh. During a press conference held at the Lok Seva Bhawan in Guwahati, Sarma stated that the bio-refinery will convert bamboo into 2G ethanol. The project has been established at a cost of ₹4,200 crores. Additionally, the Prime Minister will participate in a meeting in Numaligarh.


 


Chief Minister Sarma further mentioned that he will lay the foundation stone for several key infrastructure projects in Mangaldoi. He said, "After this, he will head to Mangaldoi in the Darrang district to inaugurate a new bridge connecting the Guwahati Ring Road with the Brahmaputra River at Kurua and Narengi, as well as the foundation stone for the Darrang Medical College." Following these events, the Prime Minister will return to Guwahati to attend the inauguration ceremony of the year-long centenary celebration of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, organized by the Assam government.


 


Sarma added that he will be in Guwahati to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the year-long celebrations for the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. This is a one-day event, and preparations for Prime Minister Modi's arrival in Assam on that day have already begun. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also visit Guwahati on August 29 to inaugurate the newly constructed Raj Bhawan.


 


According to Chief Minister Sarma, a new Raj Bhawan has been constructed in Guwahati, and the Union Home Minister will inaugurate it on the morning of August 29. The BJP-led NDA recently achieved a significant victory in the Panchayat elections in Assam. Later, Amit Shah will attend a conference of all newly elected NDA Panchayat representatives in the state. Sarma mentioned that a conference for all elected NDA Panchayat representatives will be held in Guwahati, with the Union Home Minister as the chief guest. In the evening of August 29, he will also participate in the centenary celebration of Golap Borbora, Assam's first non-Congress Chief Minister.
