Upcoming Rally Near India-Pakistan Border
Following the success of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address his first rally. This event will take place near the India-Pakistan border. On May 7, India conducted strikes on terrorist launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), and on May 22, Modi will visit the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnok, Bikaner district, Rajasthan, to offer prayers and speak at a public gathering. This marks his first visit to Rajasthan along the India-Pakistan border and his second visit to an air force base after Adampur in Punjab.
Bikaner Airport and Security Measures
Bikaner’s Nal Airport, which also serves as an Indian Air Force station, was targeted during the recent conflict but fortunately sustained no damage. The Bikaner district shares a 168 km long border with Pakistan, while Deshnok is located approximately 200 km from the international boundary. Sources indicate that after Operation Sindoor, Modi may meet with soldiers stationed at the international border as a symbol of unity. Central Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and BJP's Rajasthan President Madan Rathore have arrived in Bikaner today to oversee the event preparations.
Key Attendees and Political Discussions
BJP spokesperson Lakshmikant Bhardwaj has confirmed that Prime Minister Modi will be accompanied by Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Arjun Meghwal. Additionally, on May 25, Modi will chair a meeting with Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from NDA-ruled states to discuss Operation Sindoor and the resulting political landscape. Top NDA leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, are expected to attend, along with Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah.
BJP's Narrative on Operation Sindoor
The BJP is framing Operation Sindoor as a victory for the armed forces. In a recent cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister advised his ministers to refrain from political rhetoric and avoid getting embroiled in controversies. According to a senior BJP leader, Modi emphasized national unity and collaboration among political parties in his address to the nation, indicating that the BJP does not wish to politicize this military action. Sources suggest that the party aims to clarify that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan was established through bilateral agreement.
Strategic Messaging to Party Workers
Moreover, the BJP is conveying to its grassroots workers that the goal of Operation Sindoor was solely to target terrorists in Pakistan and PoK, not to attack any other nation's forces. There is also a sentiment within the party advocating for India to enhance its economic power and emerge as an alternative to China on the global stage, especially amid current trade tensions. The party aims to communicate that limited and targeted military actions are more appropriate than prolonged warfare, a message they wish to relay to their supporters.
