PM Modi Engages with Young Leaders at VBYLD 2026

This evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the concluding session of the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2026 in New Delhi. During the event, he toured the exhibition and interacted with young leaders, gaining insights into their innovations and ideas. In his address, Modi emphasized the significance of the journey leading up to 2047, which marks 100 years of India's independence, stating that this period is crucial for the nation and for the youth's lives. He expressed that the potential of the youth will translate into the strength of India, and their achievements will elevate the nation's success.

Modi remarked that every year on January 12, we celebrate National Youth Day in honor of Swami Vivekananda, whose life and teachings continue to inspire us. The Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue was established drawing inspiration from him. In a short span, it has evolved into a vital platform where the youth actively participate in shaping the nation's direction. He noted that Swami Vivekananda's thoughts remain a source of motivation for every young individual, guiding them on how to live with a 'Nation First' mindset and ensuring that their efforts benefit society and the country.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight at how quickly the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue has become a significant platform for youth involvement in national development. The engagement of millions of young people in sharing their ideas for the country's progress is remarkable. He pointed out that the startup culture emerged globally around 50-60 years ago but received minimal attention in India until recently, with fewer than 500 startups existing by 2014. The lack of a startup culture led to extensive government intervention, limiting opportunities for youth to showcase their talents.

Recognizing the potential of young people, Modi stated that the government has adopted a new approach focused on empowering youth. New initiatives have been launched to accelerate the startup revolution in India. During the Developed India Young Leaders Dialogue, he highlighted that India's Generation Z is brimming with creativity. He emphasized that the youth, with their innovative ideas, energy, and purpose, are playing a leading role in nation-building. Modi expressed his confidence in the youth of the country, stating that their capabilities have led to the formulation of new schemes aimed at fostering the startup revolution in India.
