Significance of World Environment Day
World Environment Day is celebrated annually on June 5 to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage action. The observance was established in 1973 under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and has become the largest global platform for raising awareness about environmental issues, celebrated by millions worldwide. Azerbaijan will host the event in 2026, marking it as one of the most extensive platforms supporting global environmental initiatives.
