Modi's Vision for Jind and Haryana

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that Jind has become a symbol of effective governance under the BJP-NDA administration. He noted that Haryana has embarked on a new path of development in recent years. While addressing the public after inaugurating and laying the foundation for several development projects in Jind, Modi stated that the event has invigorated the BJP's development agenda. He remarked that Jind is now a prime example of good governance by the BJP-NDA. The entire state of Haryana has been progressing on a new developmental trajectory. Today's event has infused new energy into the mission of the BJP's 'double-engine' government. Referring to the launch of India's first hydrogen-powered train between Jind and Sonipat, the Prime Minister mentioned that this occasion has secured its place in the country's history.

Historical Significance of the Hydrogen Train

He expressed that Jind and Haryana have now etched their names in the annals of history, as this is where the nation received its first hydrogen train. Modi recalled that we still learn about the first train that ran between Bombay and Thane. Similarly, in the future, whenever hydrogen trains are mentioned, Jind, Sonipat, and Haryana will surely be remembered. Reflecting on his connection to the area, Modi shared that his visit to Jind brought back memories from the early days of his organizational work. He stated that coming to Jind feels like opening a window to old memories. Decades ago, he first visited Jind for organizational purposes, and he has never forgotten the love and affection shown to him by the people.

Major Development Projects Unveiled

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth approximately ₹14,700 crores in Jind, in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

National Highway Projects and Their Impact

The Prime Minister inaugurated national highway projects exceeding ₹12,470 crores in Haryana. He dedicated the 157.92-kilometer-long, four-lane, fully access-controlled Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway (Packages 1 to 5), constructed at a cost of around ₹9,680 crores, to the nation. This greenfield corridor is part of the 667-kilometer-long Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, which is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Katra from approximately 14 hours to around six hours, and between Delhi and Amritsar from about eight hours to four hours. This project is anticipated to alleviate congestion on NH-44 (GT Road), increase the number of pilgrims and tourists visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, and promote industrial and logistics development along the corridor.

Enhancing Connectivity in the Region

Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated a 33.81-kilometer-long, four-lane, partially access-controlled Ambala-Kala Amb Highway on NH-7 and NH-344 to the nation. This highway is expected to strengthen connectivity between the urban area of Ambala and the industrial zone of Kala Amb, improve road links between Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, facilitate tourist movement in hilly areas, and reduce logistics costs for industries in the Kala Amb region.

Jind-Gohana Greenfield Highway

Another significant project dedicated to the nation was the 40.60-kilometer-long Jind-Gohana Greenfield Highway on NH-352A. This highway will reduce travel time between Jind and Gohana from nearly two hours to about 40 minutes. It will also enhance connectivity with Rohtak, Panipat, and the Delhi-NCR region, benefiting passengers, freight transport, and the agriculturally significant Jind-Gohana area.
