On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed profound sorrow regarding the loss of life caused by a building collapse in Bhivandi, Maharashtra. He announced a compensation of two lakh rupees for the families of each deceased victim and fifty thousand rupees for the injured. The incident occurred on Thursday night when a four-story building in Thane district collapsed, resulting in at least nine fatalities.
In a post on the social media platform 'X', Prime Minister Modi stated, 'I am deeply saddened by the news of the deaths caused by the building collapse in Thane, Maharashtra. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families during this tragic time. I wish for the swift recovery of those injured.'
Additionally, he confirmed that the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund would provide two lakh rupees to the closest relatives of each deceased individual, while each injured person would receive fifty thousand rupees in assistance.
