During these conversations, Modi expressed concern over recent attacks in their respective countries and underscored the importance of safeguarding the welfare and security of the Indian community residing there.

Continued Engagement with Regional Leaders

Earlier on Monday, Modi had also reached out to key leaders in the Middle East as tensions escalated in the region. In a conversation with King Abdullah II, he conveyed India's apprehensions regarding the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Modi reiterated India's support for peace and stability in the area and thanked the King for ensuring the safety and welfare of the Indian community in Jordan. Additionally, he condemned recent attacks by Iran during discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, focusing on measures to protect Indian expatriates amid the hostilities.

Escalating Tensions Following Military Strikes

Modi also expressed his concerns to King Abdullah II regarding the escalating tensions in the Middle East following significant military strikes by the U.S. and Israel on Iran. These attacks targeted ballistic missile sites and naval vessels, marking one of the most severe confrontations in recent years. Reports of large explosions in various Iranian regions have emerged, with witnesses in Tehran noting that buildings shook and thick smoke rose into the sky. Iranian officials have confirmed that over 700 individuals have died since the unrest began, including high-ranking political and military figures, with Tehran's authorities condemning the assassination of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a deliberate act of aggression and promising a strong retaliatory response.
