Prime Minister Modi's Diplomatic Outreach

In light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held phone conversations on Monday with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud and Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. During these discussions, the Prime Minister condemned the attacks from Iran on both nations and addressed the welfare of the Indian community residing there. In a social media post, Modi expressed gratitude for the unwavering support extended to the Indian community in Bahrain during these challenging times.

In another post, Modi mentioned his discussion with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding the evolving situation in West Asia. He reiterated India's condemnation of the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia, which violate its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Since the onset of hostilities between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, Modi has maintained regular communication with leaders from Gulf nations. On Sunday, he also spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reiterating India's call for an end to hostilities in the region.




Besides Netanyahu, Modi also engaged with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, condemning the Iranian attacks on Gulf countries and urging for a de-escalation of tensions. He thanked Al Nahyan for taking care of the Indian community in the UAE.

To assess the situation further, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on Sunday night. The meeting included key figures such as Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Cabinet Secretary T.V. Soomanathan, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
