On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi set off for a significant two-day visit to Israel. Prior to his departure, he reaffirmed his commitment to elevating the "enduring ties" between India and Israel to new heights. He described this trip as a new chapter in the robust and multifaceted strategic partnership between the two nations. Modi expressed optimism about his discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.


Before leaving for Israel, Modi conveyed his belief that this journey would further solidify the "enduring relations" between the two countries, establish new goals for their strategic partnership, and advance a shared vision for a strong, innovative, and prosperous future.


Focus Areas of Discussion

Modi mentioned that he is visiting Israel at the invitation of his "dear friend, Prime Minister Netanyahu." He expressed hope for fruitful discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including science and technology, innovation, agriculture, water management, defense and security, trade and investment, as well as fostering people-to-people connections.


The Prime Minister also noted that both leaders would exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. During his visit, Modi is scheduled to meet with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. He stated, "I will have the honor of being the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Knesset, which will be a tribute to the strong parliamentary and democratic ties that bind our two nations."
