Prime Minister Modi Congratulates Samrat Choudhary on Becoming Bihar's Chief Minister
Modi Extends Congratulations to New Bihar CM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Samrat Choudhary, who has taken the oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar, succeeding Nitish Kumar. In his message, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that Choudhary's vigor, dedication to public service, and practical experience will greatly benefit the state. He believes that under Choudhary's leadership, Bihar will reach new heights of comprehensive development.
Additionally, Modi wished Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav well on their appointments as Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar.
Choudhary's Vision for Bihar
In a separate post, Modi stated, "I firmly believe that his grassroots experience and commitment to public welfare will provide new direction and momentum to Bihar's development." He further mentioned that the state will set new standards for good governance, transparency, and public welfare. Samrat Choudhary took the oath on January 31 at the Lok Bhawan, the residence of the Governor of Bihar, Syed Ata Hasnain. At 57 years old, Choudhary has become the first Chief Minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following Nitish Kumar's resignation after a decade in office and his decision to join the Rajya Sabha.
Significance of Choudhary's Appointment
Choudhary's appointment marks a significant shift in Bihar's political landscape, signaling the end of Nitish Kumar's era of governance and ushering in a new phase for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state. Choudhary began his political journey in the 1990s with the Rashtriya Janata Dal before joining the BJP in 2018. Alongside him, senior leader Bijendra Prasad Yadav from the Janata Dal (United) and party leader Vijay Kumar Choudhary also took their oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers on the same day.
