In a post on social media, PM Modi expressed solidarity with the grieving families of those who perished in the attack, stating, "Today, we remember the innocent lives lost in the horrific Pahalgam terror attack. He further emphasized, "As a nation, we stand united in grief and determination. India will never yield to any form of terrorism. The vile intentions of terrorists will never succeed." The attack on April 22, 2025, saw the murder of 26 individuals, mostly tourists, in South Kashmir's Pahalgam. In retaliation, India launched a military operation on May 7, targeting and destroying several terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).
