New Delhi, June 20: On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed warm birthday wishes to President Droupadi Murmu, commending her extraordinary path of public service and highlighting her as a source of inspiration for countless individuals across India.

In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister expressed, “Sending heartfelt birthday wishes to the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji. Her journey, characterized by bravery, simplicity, humility, and a steadfast commitment to public service, continues to motivate people nationwide.”

Modi emphasized President Murmu’s significant contributions to nation-building and social welfare, stating, “Throughout her extensive public life, she has served the nation exceptionally well, particularly advocating for the welfare of the underprivileged and marginalized. Her unwavering dedication to India's progress is truly inspiring.”

He further extended his wishes, saying, “May she enjoy a long and healthy life dedicated to the nation. I eagerly anticipate meeting her later today at the event in Odisha.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined in the celebrations, praising President Murmu’s dedication to public service and constitutional principles.

In a post on X, he remarked, “Warm birthday wishes to Her Excellency the President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji. Your humble lifestyle, relentless commitment to uplifting tribal communities, and strong adherence to constitutional values serve as a remarkable inspiration for all citizens.”

“I pray to Lord Sri Jagannath Ji for your long and prosperous life and good health,” he added.

President Droupadi Murmu, who took office as the 15th President of India on July 25, 2022, is notable for being the first tribal woman and the youngest individual to occupy the nation’s highest constitutional position. Prior to her presidency, she was the ninth Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021.

Born on June 20, 1958, in Uparbeda village of Mayurbhanj district in Odisha to a Santhal tribal family, President Murmu’s life narrative is one of resilience and determination. She began her education in a village primary school and later pursued higher studies in Bhubaneswar, becoming the first girl from her village to complete the matriculation examination and obtain a college degree.

She graduated from Ramadevi Women’s College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics.

Despite facing social and economic hurdles, President Murmu forged a distinguished career in public service, earning admiration across various political and social domains. Her journey from a remote tribal village to Rashtrapati Bhavan is one of the most inspiring tales in modern Indian public life.
