During his 'Mann Ki Baat' program today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the citizens on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He emphasized that this significant day serves as a reminder of the courage, determination, and sacrifices made by our soldiers. To honor this spirit, a special 'Shaurya Yatra' has been organized this year.

PM Modi expressed that Kargil Vijay Diwas fills everyone with pride. The soldiers faced numerous challenges, from the steep and rugged terrains of Kargil to adverse weather conditions and enemy threats. Yet, their resolve was far greater than any obstacle. They laid down their lives to protect the motherland. On this occasion, I pay heartfelt tribute to all the martyrs and brave soldiers.
A New Identity for Self-Reliant India
Commending the 'Catch the Rain' initiative, PM Modi noted the enthusiastic participation from both rural and urban areas. He also highlighted the recent induction of INS Mahendragiri into the Indian Navy, a modern warship designed and built entirely in India, with over 75% of its components sourced domestically. This stands as a remarkable example of a self-reliant India.
Significant Achievements in the Defense Sector
PM Modi shared that this month, the DRDO successfully tested the long-range 'Pinaka' guided rocket and the Kusha missile. This achievement is attributed to the hard work of our scientists and engineers.
He further stated that whether it is manufacturing defense equipment, exporting them to other nations, or strengthening ties with allies, India is making rapid progress. Recently, during a visit to Indonesia, a significant deal involving BrahMos and Astra missiles was finalized. The global trust in India's technology and defense capabilities is steadily increasing.
