New Delhi, Oct 8: On the occasion of Indian Air Force Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt greetings to the air warriors, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and bravery in serving the nation.


He emphasized the pride the nation feels for the Indian Air Force, which plays a crucial role in safeguarding the country's airspace.


Established on October 8, 1932, the Indian Air Force (IAF) began as an auxiliary air force under British rule. Its primary objective has always been to secure Indian airspace and engage in aerial combat during conflicts. Over the years, it has transformed into one of the most powerful air forces globally.


In a message shared on X, PM Modi stated, "India takes pride in our Air Warriors. On this Air Force Day, we honor their bravery and commitment to safeguarding our skies!"


In a video message on X, he further congratulated all air warriors and their families, acknowledging their service to the nation. He remarked, "The skies can be unpredictable; the IAF's display of power has captured the attention of every citizen, instilling a sense of security."


Union Home Minister Amit Shah also took to social media to convey his greetings to the Indian Air Force. He wrote, "Salutations to the Warriors of Our Skies on this glorious occasion of Indian Air Force Day."


He praised the air force as a group of real-life heroes, whose stories of unmatched bravery and precision are recognized both on Earth and in distant space. He expressed that their patriotism and professionalism will inspire future generations long after the threats to India have vanished. He also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation.


Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared his thoughts on X, stating, "From the vast heights of the sky to our borders, the Indian Air Force embodies valor, strength, and determination, making us all proud."


He extended his warm congratulations and best wishes to the courageous air warriors of the Indian Air Force and their families on this special day.
