Furthermore, PM Modi discussed the government's 'From Seed to Market' initiative, which aims to ensure fair prices for crops and strengthen the agricultural economy. He emphasized that this initiative has been effective in guaranteeing appropriate prices for farmers' produce. The welfare of farmers remains one of the government's top priorities. He also mentioned efforts to modernize agriculture through technology, including the use of drones, soil health cards, and organic fertilizers, which assist farmers in increasing crop yields.

Details of the PM-Kisan Scheme

According to government sources, the PM-Kisan scheme is a central sector initiative fully funded by the Indian government, operational since December 1, 2018. This program provides an annual income support of ₹6,000 to all farmer families who own land, distributed in three equal installments. The definition of a family includes the husband, wife, and minor children, with state governments and union territory administrations responsible for identifying eligible farmers based on guidelines. Funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts.
