New Delhi, July 21: On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that the problem of paper leaks transcends individual states and the Central government, labeling it a "national concern". He noted that swift government action has led to the apprehension of 13 suspects linked to the case.
During the NDA's 'Mangal Milan' event, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju conveyed that PM Modi called on legal professionals to unite in ensuring that those responsible face severe penalties.
Modi underscored the accomplishments of India's youth, asserting that the focus should be on their future and development.
In remarks to the press following the NDA meeting, Rijiju stated, "In light of the NEET paper leak, the Prime Minister confirmed that immediate measures were taken upon receiving reports of the leaks. Thirteen individuals were arrested and incarcerated. Additionally, to safeguard students' futures, conducting the NEET re-examination was prioritized, and it was executed without delays in result announcements."
"Those implicated in the paper leak scheme have been identified, arrested, and are now in custody. The Prime Minister also urged leading lawyers to support efforts for the harshest penalties for those involved in such serious offenses, to deter future occurrences," he added.
"The Prime Minister pointed out that the issue of paper leaks is not restricted to any one state or the Central government but is a national issue. All states and political factions must collaborate to combat this crime. This transcends partisan politics and directly impacts the future of our youth and the nation," he continued.
Rijiju mentioned that PM Modi assured that the "youth of the nation will not only receive guarantees against future paper leaks but will also be guided to assume leadership roles globally".
He also commended Skyoot Aerospace for the successful launch of Vikram-1, stating, "The youth of India are achieving remarkable feats across various sectors. Therefore, our focus and resources will be dedicated to their future," Rijiju remarked.
The Union Minister described the meeting as "productive" and noted that the Prime Minister discussed India's recent achievements, including Free Trade Agreements with multiple nations, which he claimed benefit farmers and the country as a whole.
Rijiju further asserted that during the ongoing Monsoon Session, the "NDA will adopt a constructive approach". He expressed that the NDA "will remain cohesive to facilitate the passage of bills and legislative matters proposed by the government in Parliament".
In a call to the Opposition, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister stated, "While we may have political differences, Parliament's purpose is to serve the nation, its future, and its youth. We have all been elected as Members of Parliament for this reason, and collaboration is essential for the effective operation of Parliament."
