President Murmu Unveils Param Vir Gallery on Vijay Diwas

On December 16, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Param Vir Gallery at Rashtrapati Bhavan to honor the nation's war heroes on Vijay Diwas. The gallery features portraits of all 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, aiming to educate visitors about their bravery and contributions to the country's defense. The event was attended by key military leaders and marks a significant tribute to India's military history, coinciding with celebrations of the 1971 India-Pakistan war victory. This initiative highlights the importance of remembering and honoring those who have served the nation.

Inauguration of the Param Vir Gallery

On December 16, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Param Vir Gallery at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, commemorating Vijay Diwas. The event was attended by notable figures including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, among others.


According to the Rashtrapati Bhavan office, the gallery now showcases portraits of all 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees, aiming to educate visitors about these national heroes who played crucial roles in defending the country.


Celebrations of Vijay Diwas

Previously, the Southern Command celebrated Vijay Diwas 2025 with traditional military honors at the Southern Command War Memorial in Pune, marking 54 years since India's decisive victory in the 1971 India-Pakistan war.


Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, led the ceremony in the presence of serving personnel from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy, as well as veterans.
