Tragic Plane Crash in Ahmedabad

President Droupadi Murmu expressed her deep sorrow on Thursday regarding the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, which resulted in numerous fatalities. She extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this disaster.


In a post shared on the social media platform 'X', Murmu also conveyed her sadness over the passing of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in this incident. She stated, "The loss of life and property in the Ahmedabad plane crash is truly heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the grieving families. The nation has also lost former Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was always dedicated to the welfare of the people. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and supporters."


Earlier, in another post on 'X', the President referred to the incident as a devastating tragedy, emphasizing that the entire country stands in solidarity with those affected during this indescribable time of grief.


She remarked, "This is a heart-wrenching disaster. My sympathies and prayers are with those impacted. The nation stands with them in this moment of profound sorrow." The Air India flight (AI171) heading to Gatwick, London, tragically crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad around 1:40 PM, with 242 individuals on board, including crew members.
