On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu extended her congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for achieving the remarkable distinction of serving as the longest continuously elected Prime Minister in the country. She emphasized that this historic moment reflects the unwavering trust and confidence the public has in his leadership.
In a post shared on the social media platform 'X', the President remarked, "Your tenure has been marked by significant achievements in governance, economic strength, and social transformation."
Modi has surpassed the previous record held by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, who served for 4,398 consecutive days. Modi first took the oath of office on May 26, 2014.
Murmu stated, "Heartfelt congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this unique honor of serving as the longest continuously elected Prime Minister. This historic occasion is a testament to the enduring trust and confidence expressed by the people of India in your leadership."
She highlighted that extensive welfare initiatives have worked to deliver the benefits of development in a more inclusive and equitable manner to the last person in society, showcasing a commitment to the principles of Antyodaya.
President Murmu mentioned, "Among the many initiatives launched under your leadership, the PM-Janman and the Earth Aba Tribal Village Utkars Campaign are particularly close to my heart."
