A Spiritual Encounter in Vrindavan

New Delhi: On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu visited the Shri Hit Radha Keli Kunj Ashram in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, where she met the esteemed saint Premanand Maharaj. During this visit, she engaged in spiritual discussions and sought his blessings.

This meeting was a significant part of her three-day trip to Uttar Pradesh, which includes various religious ceremonies and public events.

President Murmu arrived at the ashram early in the day, accompanied by tight security. She was greeted by local leaders and disciples before her spiritual dialogue with Premanand Maharaj, a prominent figure in the Radha Vallabh tradition prevalent in Braj. Their conversation revolved around spiritual principles and the importance of faith in promoting societal harmony and well-being.

Her visit to the ashram is part of a broader itinerary that includes stops in Ayodhya, Mathura, and Vrindavan, where she has been praying at important temples and sacred locations since March 19.

On Thursday evening, she visited the ISKCON Temple in Mathura, participated in the evening aarti, and paid respects at Swami Prabhupada's samadhi, in addition to offering prayers at the Krishna Balaram and Shyam Sunder shrines.

Earlier in her journey, President Murmu performed the installation of the ‘Shri Ram Yantra’ at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, marking a ceremonial milestone that signifies the nearing completion of construction at this revered site. This installation was accompanied by Vedic chants led by scholars from southern India, Kashi, and Ayodhya, highlighting the cultural and spiritual importance of her visit.

After her meeting with Premanand Maharaj, the President plans to visit the memorial of Neem Karoli Baba later in the day. In the evening, she will inaugurate a new Oncology Block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram in Vrindavan, aimed at improving cancer care services in the area, and will also visit Vatsalya Gram, a center established by Sadhvi Ritambhara that provides support for the elderly and orphaned children.

Her pilgrimage will conclude on March 21 with prayers at the Danghati Temple in Govardhan, followed by the traditional Govardhan Parikrama, a seven-mile religious circuit deeply embedded in local devotion, before she returns to New Delhi.
