Historic Submarine Journey

On Sunday, President Droupadi Murmu undertook a significant underwater journey aboard the INS Vaghsheer, a Kalvari-class submarine, at the Karwar Naval Base in Karnataka. As the Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces, she assessed the operational capabilities and strength of the Navy.

During this remarkable voyage, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, the Chief of Naval Staff, was also present on the submarine alongside the President.


First Submarine Experience for Murmu

This marks President Droupadi Murmu's inaugural experience aboard a submarine, making her the first President of India to embark on such a journey in a Kalvari-class submarine.
