President Droupadi Murmu Honors 92 Armed Forces Personnel with Distinguished Service Awards

In a significant event, President Droupadi Murmu honored 92 senior armed forces personnel with Distinguished Service Awards at the Defence Investiture Ceremony-II. The awards recognized exceptional contributions from both serving and retired officials across all three military branches. Notably, 30 individuals received the prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal, while others were awarded the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal. The ceremony was attended by key figures including Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, highlighting the importance of recognizing valor and dedication in service.

Recognition of Valor at the Defence Investiture Ceremony


New Delhi: On Wednesday, President Droupadi Murmu awarded Distinguished Service Awards to 92 senior members of the armed forces during the Defence Investiture Ceremony-II at Rashtrapati Bhavan.


Among the honorees were both active and retired personnel from the three branches of the military. Notably, 30 individuals received the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), the highest honor for exceptional service in peacetime, while five were honored with the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM), the second-highest award for service during conflict.


The remaining 57 recipients were given the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), which recognizes distinguished service in peacetime.


The event was also attended by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.


The PVSM awardees included prominent figures such as Lt General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, Lt General Dhiraj Seth, and Lt General Anindya Sengupta, among others.


The UYSM was awarded to Lt General Rajiv Ghai, Lt General Zubin A Minwalla, and Air Marshal Sujeet Pushpakar Dharkar (retd), to name a few.


Those who received the AVSM included Lt General Pushpendra Pal Singh, Lt General Vijay Bhaskaran Nair, and Air Vice Marshal Manish Sahdev.
