As the Shri Manimahesh Yatra approaches, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal carried out an inspection of National Highway‑154A. His visit included key locations such as Dharwala, Batti Ki Hatti, and Durgethi, focusing on the restoration efforts for road sections that suffered damage during last year's natural calamity.

The Deputy Commissioner urged the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials to accelerate the repair work, ensuring that all necessary tasks are finalized before the Yatra begins. He emphasized the need to swiftly remove loose rocks and boulders from critical areas and implement adequate safety measures to facilitate safe travel for both pilgrims and local residents.

During the inspection, NHAI Project Director Rahul reported that 60 sensitive locations have been pinpointed along the Chamba–Bharmour highway. To ensure smooth traffic, 12 to 13 machines have been deployed, with one stationed every five kilometers for quick response to any blockages. At crucial sites like Batti Ki Hatti and Chudi, two machines will operate continuously, supported by flagmen to warn travelers of potential landslides or falling debris.

Additionally, barricades are being set up at vulnerable spots, and road repairs are being conducted urgently to ensure safe and uninterrupted travel for both locals and pilgrims during the Yatra.

The inspection was attended by NHAI Deputy Manager Yashwant Dhyal, along with site engineers Sahil and Parikshit, and other officials.
