Inspection of Pilgrimage Route Facilities

On Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal conducted an inspection of the facilities along the pilgrimage route from Hadsar village to Dal Lake, Manimahesh, as part of the preparations for the Shri Manimahesh Yatra 2026. Accompanied by officials from various departments, he assessed the arrangements and provided necessary directives to ensure the smooth execution of this sacred journey.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner engaged with shopkeepers along the route, urging them to collaborate with the administration in safeguarding the environment and maintaining the natural beauty of the Manimahesh valley. He emphasized that the sale of small-capacity water bottles and snack packets is strictly forbidden along the yatra path due to ecological concerns. Additionally, he instructed vendors to refrain from selling cigarettes, bidis, or any tobacco products.

Repswal also directed the Public Works Department to undertake repairs on the pedestrian bridge and road near Dhanchho in Dunali, as well as the glacier point above Sundarsi. He stressed the importance of completing road construction projects within the stipulated time frame as per the awarded tenders.

The Deputy Commissioner further evaluated the arrangements for security, drinking water, resting areas, toilets, and waste management, highlighting the necessity of providing pilgrims with clean, safe, and pollution-free facilities.

He urged all devotees to ensure they complete the mandatory registration before starting their journey and to check weather conditions prior to their departure. "This year, registration is compulsory for all pilgrims. No one should undertake the yatra without registering," he stated.

Additional District Magistrate Vikas Sharma, SDM Ajay Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer Rajnish Mahajan, and other officials were present during the inspection.
