Election Rehearsal Conducted for Panchayati Raj Institutions

In a bid to facilitate a transparent and orderly process for the upcoming Panchayati Raj Institutions General Elections in 2026, a rehearsal was held on Thursday at the Government College in Bharmaur. The session was led by Sub-Divisional Officer and Returning Officer Vikas Sharma.


A total of 430 personnel participated in this rehearsal, which included 6 Sector Officers, 31 Assistant Returning Officers, 88 Presiding Officers, 263 Polling Officers, and 42 reserve staff members.


During the training, comprehensive and hands-on instruction was provided regarding various phases of the polling process. District Development Officer Tavinder Kumar addressed the attendees, highlighting the significance of elections as a fundamental aspect of democracy. He encouraged the officials to take the training seriously and to perform their responsibilities with commitment, alertness, and integrity.


Vikas Sharma, the SDO and Returning Officer, announced that voting in the Bharmaur block is scheduled for May 26 and May 28, from 7 AM to 3 PM. The rehearsal included discussions on polling station procedures, election material management, voting techniques, and other critical guidelines.


The event was also attended by District Development Officer Tavinder Kumar, Tehsildar Bharmour Tej Ram Bhardwaj, Tehsildar Holi Ajay Kumar, along with various other officials and staff.
