The program will include flag hoisting, a march-past, and cultural performances, with contingency plans in place for inclement weather. Dr. Garg emphasized the importance of collaboration among departments to make the celebration memorable. Independence Day Preparations Reviewed

A meeting was convened today at the SDM office in Kangra to assess the preparations for the forthcoming Independence Day celebrations, led by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dr. Anjali Garg. Various departmental officials engaged in thorough discussions to ensure the event's successful and respectful execution.



Dr. Garg confirmed that the Independence Day festivities will take place with great zeal on August 15 at the SDM office grounds in Kangra. The agenda includes flag hoisting, a march-past, singing of the national anthem, cultural displays, and honoring individuals who have made significant contributions in various sectors. Should inclement weather occur, the event will be relocated to the auditorium of GAV Senior Secondary School.



The SDM instructed all department heads to finalize their preparations promptly. She stressed the importance of managing cleanliness, providing drinking water, ensuring electricity supply, setting up the stage and seating, arranging sound systems, and overseeing traffic and security measures. Additionally, she urged schools and institutions involved in cultural performances to conduct their rehearsals on schedule.



Emphasizing the significance of the day, Dr. Garg remarked, “Independence Day is a celebration of our national pride. It is essential for all departments to collaborate effectively and responsibly to create a memorable event.”



Attendees at the meeting included Block Development Officer Parul Katiyar, Tehsildar Prakash Chand, BMO Tiara Dr. Vikram Katoch, Naib Tehsildar Raman Kayastha, Trade Association President Ved Sharma, along with several other officials from relevant departments.
