Comprehensive Review Meeting Held for Nagaon Bypoll
A detailed plan was prepared for the smooth conduct of every aspect for the upcoming election in the meeting
Nagaon, Sept 12: In a bid to ensure thorough preparation for the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency bypoll, a joint meeting took place yesterday, attended by officials from Nagaon and Morigaon districts, including Commissioners and police representatives.
The meeting focused on creating a comprehensive strategy to facilitate the smooth execution of all election-related activities.
Aranyak Saikia, the District Commissioner of Nagaon and the Returning Officer for the election, chaired the meeting, which also included Morigaon District Commissioner Srishti Singh, along with Senior Superintendents of Police V V Rakesh Reddy and Nishant Saurabh from Nagaon and Morigaon, respectively.
It is important to note that the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency encompasses five Assembly constituencies from Nagaon district and three from Morigaon district.
During the discussions, various preparations for the upcoming by-election were thoroughly examined, including polling station setups, distribution of election materials, security measures at counting centers, and effective management of human resources.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the stringent security measures necessary to maintain law and order on election day, along with special protocols to be implemented by police in sensitive regions.
Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and Election Officers from both Nagaon and Morigaon districts, along with other senior police officials, were also present at the meeting.
Following this, another significant preparatory meeting was convened with representatives from various political parties in the district, focusing on the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency by-election.
The Nagaon District Commissioner emphasized the importance of utilizing the cVIGIL app developed by the Election Commission, which allows citizens and political parties to report any violations of the election code with evidence, ensuring prompt action from the administration.
