Final Touches for the Sawan Jhula Festival

Ayodhya, August 9 - The religious committee of the Ram Temple Trust has completed preparations for the upcoming Sawan Jhula Festival. Key decisions include extending the visiting hours, making special arrangements for saints, and altering the attire of the priests. Committee member Mithilesh Nandini Sharan announced on Sunday that after the Shringar Aarti, Ram Lalla and his three brothers will be seated on swings.

Devotees will be allowed to visit throughout the day, although there will be a brief closure during the afternoon offering. Sharan mentioned that from August 15 to August 28, there will be special swing festivities and viewing arrangements every evening for two to three hours. Following this, a smaller idol of Ram Lalla will be placed in a palanquin and taken to Kuber Tila for the traditional celebration before being returned to the temple.

The committee has also decided that the priests will adhere to the attire and adornment traditions of the Ramanand sect. Sharan noted that during the festival, special offerings of puri, vegetables, kheer, and malpua will be presented to the deity. Additionally, special viewing arrangements will be made for saints and ascetics.

To facilitate this, they must provide their details a day in advance. Regular visiting passes will also be issued for residents of Ayodhya and saints, with no restrictions on the number of visitors. The meeting held at the temple complex included Ram Temple Trust treasurer Govind Devgiri, representative of Trust President Nritya Gopal Das, trustee Jinendra Das, Vishwaprasanna Tirth, Ramanand Das, religious committee member Dr. Mithilesh Nandini Sharan, and other committee members.
