Visit to Sitab Diara

On Tuesday, Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, visited Sitab Diara, a remote village in the Saran district of Bihar, known as the birthplace of the renowned socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan.

During his visit, Kishor expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack of electricity at Narayan's ancestral home, highlighting the neglect of such an important site.

Referring to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Lalu Prasad, Kishor remarked to reporters, 'For the past 35 years, Bihar has been governed by self-proclaimed disciples of Jayaprakash Narayan, and this is the condition of a place associated with their guru.'

He added, 'I am certain that leaders do not visit this place after dark. If they did, like I am now, they would realize that the electricity supply to this house has been cut off due to an unpaid bill of four lakh rupees by the government.'

As he travels across the state to garner support for his party ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Kishor also expressed his disappointment regarding the maintenance of the ancestral home of India's first President, Rajendra Prasad, and the school established by Kasturba Gandhi at Bhitiharwa Ashram.
