Prashant Kishor to Reside in Ashram Until Bihar Assembly Elections

Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, has declared that he will reside in an ashram on the outskirts of Patna until the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. This decision follows his party's unsuccessful debut in the last elections. Kishor emphasizes the importance of voters prioritizing their children's future and not succumbing to financial temptations when voting. His remarks also indirectly critique the government's financial assistance schemes aimed at women. As he prepares for the elections, Kishor aims to make a significant impact in Bihar's political landscape.

Prashant Kishor's New Residence Ahead of Elections

On Wednesday, Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, announced his decision to stay at an ashram located on the outskirts of Patna until the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. Speaking to reporters in Darbhanga, Kishor revealed that he had vacated his residence in Patna the previous night. The Bihar Nav Nirman Ashram, situated near IIT Patna, will serve as his home until the elections, during which he hopes his party will make a significant impact.

Transition from Strategist to Politician

Having transitioned from an election strategist to a politician, Kishor recently launched his party ahead of the assembly elections but failed to secure any seats. Following this setback, he opted to live in the ashram. Previously, he was operating from a large bungalow known as 'Sheikhpura House' near Patna Airport, which belongs to the family of Uday Singh, a former BJP MP and the national president of his party.

Political Background of Uday Singh

Uday Singh hails from a prominent political family in Bihar. His elder brother, NK Singh, is a former chairman of the 15th Finance Commission and a former Rajya Sabha MP, while their late mother, Madhuri Singh, was a Congress leader and MP from Purnia. Kishor has criticized former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar following the appointment of Kumar's son as the state's health minister, stating that the elected officials have failed to address the economic crisis leading to migration.

A Call to Voters

Kishor urged the voters of Bihar to prioritize their children's future when casting their votes. He advised them not to be swayed by leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar, or Lalu Prasad, nor to sell their votes for a mere 10,000 rupees. This statement is perceived as a subtle jab at the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, which was launched before the assembly elections, providing financial assistance of 10,000 rupees to over 1.5 million women.
