Prashant Kishor Critiques Rahul Gandhi Amid Bihar Election Campaign

Intensifying Political Landscape in Bihar

The political atmosphere in Bihar is heating up as the elections approach. Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party is actively campaigning, and Kishor is not holding back in his criticism of opponents. In a recent conversation with a news outlet, he specifically targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, questioning whether Gandhi has ever spent a night in any village in Bihar. Kishor accused him of mocking the people of Bihar from Delhi while coming to preach to them.

Kishor further claimed that after becoming Chief Minister, Revant Reddy remarked that working is in the DNA of Biharis, suggesting that they are born to labor. He questioned why leaders come to Bihar to lecture its people when they have historically failed to deliver on promises. He recalled Rajiv Gandhi's 1989 announcement at Gandhi Maidan, pledging ₹50,000 crores for Bihar's development, and asked where that money went during the Congress's 15 years in power.

When asked about the expected vote share for Congress in the upcoming Bihar elections, Kishor responded that it would be as much as what Lalu Prasad Yadav might offer. He criticized Congress for lacking a clear stance in Bihar, stating that the party has been operating under Lalu Yadav's influence for the past 25-30 years. Kishor challenged Rahul Gandhi to demonstrate political courage by contesting the elections independently in Bihar or to negotiate for an equal number of seats with Lalu Yadav.
