Call for Change in Bihar's Political Landscape

Prashant Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, urged the citizens of Bihar to support a new alternative in the upcoming state assembly elections. Speaking at a gathering in the Jhajharpur area of Madhubani district, he emphasized that the people have experienced the governance of Lalu Yadav, PM Modi, and Nitish Kumar, and now it is time for the governance of the people. Kishor stated, 'I am not asking for votes... Over the past two and a half years, I have traveled to five thousand villages, gathered many individuals, and established a party called 'Jan Suraj'... You have witnessed the rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav, PM Modi, and Nitish Kumar... Now, Bihar should have the governance of the people, 'Jan Suraj'.

Earlier on Saturday, Kishor criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal (United), claiming that for the past 30 years, they have only spread poverty and corruption in Bihar. He remarked that their focus has been solely on social justice slogans to benefit their families and children. According to him, they lack a vision and do not aim to contribute positively to society. Instead, they seek to divide people based on caste for political gain, resulting in only poverty and corruption in Bihar over the last three decades.

Bihar's elections are anticipated to take place later this year in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India has yet to announce the official dates. The NDA, comprising BJP, JD(U), and LJP, will strive to maintain its power in Bihar, while the India Block, formed by RJD, Congress, and leftist parties, aims to oust Nitish Kumar from power. In the current Bihar assembly, which has 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) holds 131 seats, including 80 from BJP, 45 from JD(U), 4 from HAM(S), and support from 2 independent candidates.
