Power Restoration in Gurugram Following Prolonged Outage

Gurugram, August 5 - After experiencing over 48 hours of power outage, electricity supply was finally restored on Wednesday to several shopping malls and residential complexes along Sohna Road. Residents of the Pyramid Urban Homes Society in Sector 67 were compelled to take to the streets due to the prolonged power cuts.

More than eight establishments, including AIRIA Mall, Elan Mall, Omaxe, and the Pyramid Society, faced significant power disruptions for nearly two days. Sources indicated that a short circuit in the underground power supply network was the cause of the issue.

Frustrated locals gathered on Sohna Road, prompting intervention from police and electricity department officials to clear the traffic jam. Residents reported that the power outage led to a water crisis in their communities, severely affecting daily life.

By around 5 PM, electricity supply was restored. Sunil Saini, the SDO of the South Haryana Power Distribution Corporation in Badshahpur, confirmed that the disruption was due to a fault in the switching cable.
