Positive Dialogue Between Modi and Trump Highlights Bilateral Relations
Strengthening Ties: Modi and Trump Connect Again
Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador to India, characterized a recent high-level discussion between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump as highly constructive. He shared on X, "A very positive and productive call! Stay tuned…" This statement followed Modi's announcement of receiving a call from Trump. The Prime Minister noted, "I had a conversation with my friend President Donald Trump. We reviewed the significant advancements made in our bilateral cooperation across various sectors. Our commitment to further enhance our Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership remains strong. We also addressed the situation in West Asia, emphasizing the necessity of keeping the Strait of Hormuz secure and open," as he posted on X.
This marks the third interaction between the two leaders this year, and it is the first following the recent peace negotiations involving Iran and the US. Their previous discussions occurred on February 2, focusing on trade deal advancements, and on March 24, where they deliberated on the West Asia situation. The call concluded with Trump expressing his affection for Modi, stating, "I just want you to know we all love you," according to the US ambassador.
