Kohima, Jun 13: The Congress party in Nagaland has initiated a new initiative called the "People's Voice Questionnaire," aimed at gathering public feedback to shape its vision and policies ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections.

During a press briefing on Saturday, Khriedi Theunuo, the Working President of Nagaland Congress, explained that the questionnaire is intended to collect insights on significant issues impacting the state, as well as to comprehend the aspirations and concerns of its residents.

Theunuo emphasized that the feedback will play a crucial role in crafting a policy framework that is centered around the needs of the people and will guide the party's election strategy.

"We want to understand the expectations of the public from our party and the future they envision for Nagaland. The insights gathered will be instrumental in shaping our policy decisions and preparations for the upcoming elections in 2028," he stated.

He mentioned that the questionnaires have been distributed to all district units of the party.

The Congress aims to engage a diverse range of individuals, including church leaders, village heads, social activists, community organizations, and citizens from various backgrounds, he added.

Theunuo remarked that "a robust democracy thrives when citizens express their views candidly," highlighting that this initiative provides an opportunity for the public to directly influence the party's future trajectory.

S Supongmeren Jamir, the chief of Nagaland Congress and the state's sole Lok Sabha MP, noted that this initiative comes as the party seeks to re-establish itself in the state after being out of power for over twenty years.

"No government can create policies that genuinely reflect the people's needs without first hearing their opinions and aspirations," he asserted.

Jamir acknowledged the party's past electoral challenges and expressed the Congress's readiness to address its shortcomings and reconnect with grassroots voters.
