Political Tensions Rise in Maharashtra Over Rahul Gandhi's Remarks
Political Tensions Escalate in Maharashtra
Intense political exchanges have erupted in Maharashtra. On Monday, state minister Nitesh Rane launched a scathing attack on opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a "Pakistani agent" and asserting that his statements are influenced by external meddling. This reaction came after Gandhi suggested that the current NDA government would not survive the economic crisis into the next year. Rane claimed that the Congress MP is making inflammatory remarks to appease interests from across the border.
Rane's Accusations Against Gandhi
Speaking to reporters, Rane accused Gandhi of being a Pakistani agent, stating, "He talks about Pakistan... he reads a script that originates from there. To please his Pakistani masters, their agent Rahul Gandhi has come here to make statements against Prime Minister Modi."
Background of the Controversy
This heated debate was sparked by comments made by Gandhi during a meeting of the Congress Minority Department Advisory Council. A vocal critic of the central government's economic policies, Gandhi warned that the foundation of the current administration is unstable.
Gandhi's Critique of Fuel Price Hikes
Additionally, Gandhi recently criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the social media platform X regarding the recent hikes in fuel prices. Referring to Modi as "the inflationary Modi," the Congress leader accused the government of deliberately controlling prices during elections and then increasing them in increments afterward.
Gandhi's Warning on Economic Crisis
In a post on X, Gandhi stated, "The inflationary Modi has done it again. He is raising petrol and diesel prices in installments—so your pockets quietly empty out. I have been warning about the impending economic crisis for months. But Modi, as usual, was busy with elections—only to raise petrol and diesel prices by 28% right after the elections concluded."
