Political Tensions Rise in Bihar Ahead of Elections
Political Campaigns Heat Up in Bihar
As the elections approach in Bihar, political parties are ramping up their campaigning efforts. The atmosphere is charged with accusations flying between the ruling party and the opposition. In the latest exchange, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi accused Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary of engaging in hooliganism and harassing girls. Speaking to the media, Rabri Devi stated, 'I have known him since childhood; he used to cause trouble on Boring Road and harass girls there.'
Samrat Choudhary Responds to Allegations
In response to Rabri Devi's claims, Samrat Choudhary addressed reporters, suggesting that her distress stems from the Supreme Court's ruling that declared her husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav, a criminal. He remarked that it is natural for her to feel troubled given the circumstances surrounding her family, including her son, who is allegedly making excuses out of fear of losing the elections.
Serious Accusations of Conspiracy
Earlier on the same day, Rabri Devi alleged that the ruling Janata Dal (United) and BJP coalition had conspired to 'murder' her son, Tejashwi Yadav, ahead of the assembly elections. She claimed that there have been at least two to four previous attempts on his life. This statement came after a heated exchange in the assembly, where members of the ruling party displayed aggressive behavior towards Tejashwi.
Tejashwi Yadav's Safety Concerns
Rabri Devi further asserted, 'There are so many murders happening in Bihar; they want another one to occur.' She pointed fingers at the JD(U)-BJP alliance, suggesting they want to eliminate Tejashwi to prevent him from challenging them in the elections. She recounted a past incident where a truck attempted to run over his vehicle, emphasizing the seriousness of the threats against her son.
