Political Tensions Rise as Piyush Goyal Responds to Kharge's Remarks on PM Modi
Goyal's Strong Rebuttal to Kharge's Comments
Central Minister Piyush Goyal has fiercely countered Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's recent remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Goyal accused the Gandhi family, Kharge, and the Congress party of consistently making derogatory comments. He suggested that Kharge's heart and mind are unable to accept Modi's widespread popularity, highlighting the Congress party's failure in the last three elections. Goyal emphasized that Modi has led the Gujarat government for 25 years and has been at the helm of the central government for the past 12 years, boasting a clean record of public service, unlike the Gandhi family, which he claims has been embroiled in scandals across generations. He criticized their history of undermining democracy and speaking against India, both domestically and internationally, condemning the Congress's mindset and their opposition to Modi.
Calls for Apology from Congress and DMK
Goyal further stated that Rahul Gandhi and MK Stalin should apologize to the Indian public for their disrespectful comments regarding the Prime Minister. He asserted that the Congress and DMK have insulted 140 million Indians, including 80 million Tamil brothers and sisters, by labeling the Prime Minister as a terrorist. Goyal argued that such personal attacks will not alter the electoral fate of the Congress, which is already determined by the public's anger over their misgovernance.
Congress's Desperation Highlighted
BJP MP Kamaljeet Sahrawat remarked that Kharge's words about the Prime Minister are not surprising, attributing them to the Congress party's desperation as they approach a decline. BJP leader Gaurav Vallabh pointed out the irony in the language used by a party that ruled for 55-60 years, questioning how they could label India's elected Prime Minister as a terrorist while the entire Gandhi family remains silent. Vallabh suggested that Kharge's statements seem scripted, likely influenced by Rahul Gandhi, and warned that the electorate will respond through the voting process in the upcoming elections.
Kharge's Controversial Accusation
On Tuesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made a shocking accusation against Prime Minister Modi, labeling him a terrorist. He criticized the AIADMK for its alliance with the BJP-led NDA ahead of the Tamil Nadu assembly elections. While campaigning in Chennai for the DMK-led coalition, Kharge questioned how the AIADMK could partner with someone they accused of terrorism, asserting that their party does not believe in equality and justice.
Clarification from Kharge
In clarifying his comments about Prime Minister Modi, Kharge stated that he believes Modi intimidates the public and political parties. He clarified that he never directly called Modi a terrorist but meant to convey that Modi often issues threats. Kharge expressed concerns over Modi's control over agencies like the ED, Income Tax, and CBI, and his desire to manipulate the delimitation process.
