He emphasized that when a government proposes a bill in the Assembly aimed at increasing taxes, VAT, or introducing a cess, it signifies an additional financial burden on citizens.

Thakur claimed that following pressure from the BJP, the Chief Minister was attempting to shift focus rather than confront the issue head-on. He further criticized the Congress government for not delivering on its electoral promises and suggested that internal conflicts within the party were becoming apparent.

Additionally, he alleged that the state government was imposing financial strain on the populace while leading Himachal Pradesh further into debt.

The Chief Minister clarified that the state government had not raised petrol or diesel prices and noted that the bill concerning cess had not yet been enacted into law. He accused the opposition of misleading the public regarding these matters.
