Political Incident in Bihar Involving Tushar Gandhi
In a recent political upheaval, Tushar Gandhi, the great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, faced alleged humiliation during his march in Bihar. This incident occurred in Turkaulia, East Champaran, at an event held near a historic neem tree linked to Mahatma Gandhi's legacy. Tushar Gandhi had commenced his "Yatra for Change" from the Bhitiharwa Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran on July 12 and arrived in Turkaulia as part of his journey.
Local head Vinay Kumar Sah had invited him to attend a seminar at the Panchayat Bhawan. However, tensions escalated during the event when a colleague of Gandhi reportedly made a political remark supporting the Grand Alliance, which angered the head. In response, Sah accused Tushar Gandhi of misusing the platform and ultimately asked him to leave, denying any connection to Mahatma Gandhi.
A heated argument ensued between Gandhi and the local head. Expressing his frustration, Tushar Gandhi chose to exit the event to avoid further confrontation. Supporters and local Gandhians also walked out in protest against the head's behavior. Later, Tushar Gandhi condemned the incident, stating, "Democracy has been murdered in Champaran," and referred to the head as a descendant of Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Bihar Congress strongly criticized the incident involving the alleged disrespect towards Tushar Gandhi. Tejashwi Yadav took to social media to express his gratitude towards Mahatma Gandhi and his ideals, offering an apology on behalf of the people of Bihar to Tushar Gandhi, hoping for his forgiveness.
