Bihar's Political Landscape Transformed
The political dynamics in Bihar have shifted significantly after Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United), resigned from his position as Chief Minister, paving the way for BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary to take over. Recent reports have emerged regarding the distribution of ministerial positions within the NDA coalition, providing clarity on how many leaders from JDU, BJP, and other allied parties will be included in the new cabinet.

The anticipated distribution of ministerial roles has become clearer, revealing how power will be shared within the coalition government. JDU leaders Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Kumar Yadav have taken their oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers.
The breakdown of ministerial positions is as follows: BJP will have 15 ministers, including the Chief Minister; JDU will have 17 ministers, which includes 2 Deputy Chief Ministers; LJP (Ram Vilas) will have 2 ministers; HM will have 1 minister; and RLM will also have 1 minister.
In the newly formed government, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has retained control over several departments, overseeing a total of 29 departments. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Chaudhary has been allocated 10 departments, while Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Kumar Yadav will manage 8 departments. Sources indicate that the cabinet expansion is expected to take place on May 1, and preparations for the new government to assume office are already underway.

Political analysts suggest that maintaining coordination among NDA allies will be a significant challenge following Nitish Kumar's transition to the Rajya Sabha. For Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, another critical task will be to address state-level issues without causing rifts within the JDU, especially in light of reports of discontent within the party after Kumar's resignation. However, Nitish Kumar has not publicly expressed any dissatisfaction.
