Police Uncover Prostitution Racket Near Tanda Medical College in Himachal Pradesh

Prostitution Operation Exposed in Kangra District

Kangra: Authorities in Himachal Pradesh have dismantled a prostitution ring operating from a private guest house close to Tanda Medical College. The local police conducted a raid at the Mountain Jem Guest House on Tanda Medical College road after receiving a tip-off on July 3, 2025.


In response to the information, police quickly organized two teams to execute a sting operation. Undercover officers entered the guest house posing as clients. Once they confirmed the illicit activities, both teams launched a coordinated raid.



During the operation, police rescued two women believed to be involved in the sex trade. One of the women, Neetu Rajput (35), from Manimajra in Chandigarh, was arrested for allegedly overseeing the illegal activities.


An FIR has been filed under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act of 1956, and legal proceedings are currently in progress. The rescued women are now in protective custody and are expected to appear in court in Kangra.


The operation was led by Kangra Station House Officer Sanjeev Kumar, with assistance from ten additional police personnel. The raid was meticulously planned and executed. Authorities have stated that all individuals involved in the trafficking network will face stringent legal consequences.
