In a proactive move, the CIA team from the Police District Nurpur successfully intercepted illegal timber transportation during a routine checkpoint near the Riyali Bridge this morning.

Following a tip-off, officers from the Fatehpur Police Station and Re Police Post collaborated in the operation, halting several vehicles that appeared suspicious.

The joint operation revealed six pickup trucks and one canter filled with various types of timber and firewood. Upon request, the drivers were unable to present any valid permits, licenses, or transport documentation.

Authorities confirmed that the Forest Department will be involved to ascertain the timber's source, ownership, and legality.

The Superintendent of Police in Nurpur emphasized the district police's dedication to preventing illegal logging, timber smuggling, and other illicit activities, assuring that such operations will persist. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious or illegal activities to the police immediately.
