Police Uncover Fake Call Center in Agra, Arrest Four Including Two Women

Fake Call Center Exposed in Agra

Agra (Uttar Pradesh), August 9 – Authorities in Agra have dismantled a fraudulent call center in the Tajganj area, leading to the arrest of four individuals, including two women, on Sunday. A police official provided this update.

The operation was conducted by the cyber cell team in the Tajganj police station area. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aditya revealed that over 100 complaints had been received from 15 states, alleging that they were deceived under the pretense of job placements. Investigations based on these complaints led to the discovery of the fake call center.

The suspects had established a fictitious company and were advertising job openings. They misled individuals by claiming that women from the call center could secure positions as guards, supervisors, or in other roles. Many fell victim to this deception in hopes of employment.

Victims were coerced into paying approximately 2,000 rupees for registration. Following this, they were asked to pay an additional 8,000 rupees for uniforms and other necessities. Ultimately, they were charged another 10,000 rupees to receive their appointment letters.

According to the DCP, investigations have revealed that more than 2,500 individuals have been victims of this scam. Authorities recovered 10 mobile phones, 32 bank passbooks, 28 ATM cards, 12 QR codes, and various documents, including appointment letters, from the suspects. One of the arrested individuals, Tarun, hails from Bihar, while another, Ajay, is from Jaunpur.

The police are currently searching for additional members connected to this criminal network.
