Police Seize Pickup Truck Carrying Illegal Resin in Himachal Pradesh

Seizure of Illegal Resin in Sirmaur District

In Nahan, on August 3, law enforcement in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh confiscated a pickup truck allegedly transporting 119 tins of resin without valid documentation. Officials reported this incident on Monday. The seizure occurred late Sunday evening when a team from the Pachhad police station stopped the vehicle for inspection near the Dharyar crossing, following a routine patrol in the Kangar Ghat village area.

During the search, authorities discovered the resin concealed beneath a tarpaulin in the vehicle. The driver, Sarvesh Thakur, along with another passenger, Robin Thakur, failed to present any legal documents or permits regarding the resin's origin or its intended destination. Resin is a sticky substance derived from trees like pine, commonly used in arts, crafts, and the production of artificial jewelry.

Transporting resin without the necessary permits is prohibited in Himachal Pradesh. Senior Superintendent of Police N.S. Negi confirmed that the vehicle has been seized, and a case has been registered at the Pachhad police station for further investigation.
