Police Seize Heroin in Nurpur: Drug Trafficker Arrested

The CIA unit of the Nurpur Police District has made a significant breakthrough in its fight against drug trafficking, successfully seizing 20.61 grams of heroin (chitta).
Details of the Incident: On April 16, 2026, while conducting patrols in the Bhadroya/Damtal region, law enforcement acted on a credible tip-off. They stopped a Hyundai i10 car (registration number HP-18A-5295) for inspection. During the search, they discovered 20.61 grams of heroin hidden in the vehicle. Both the drugs and the car were subsequently confiscated by the police.
Identifying the Suspect:
- Pradeep Kumar @ Shanga, approximately 52 years old, from VPO Channi, Tehsil Indora, District Kangra.
The suspect was apprehended at the scene, and a case has been filed against him under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act at the Damtal Police Station. Investigations are ongoing.
The Nurpur Police urge the community to assist in the anti-drug initiative by reporting any suspicious activities to the police helpline at 112.
